Let’s begin with what keeps happening.

This short conversation should take about three to five minutes.

We’ll ask about one recurring business problem, the result you want, and the evidence you already have. There are no right answers. The purpose is to identify the most useful next step.

What This Process Evaluates

Spencer Dynamics does not classify you as a person.

This process classifies the present condition of your submission.

It is not designed to determine whether you are a good entrepreneur, whether you work hard enough, or whether you deserve to succeed. It examines the relationship between the result you want, the work being performed, and the structure supporting that work.

This process will look for:

  • a specific recurring problem;
  • an observable effect on the business;
  • a meaningful objective;
  • evidence that can be examined;
  • the authority required to make a correction; and
  • a willingness to consider what the objective may require.

You will not receive a passing or failing score. The purpose is to determine what can responsibly happen next.

The process may find that you are ready for a complete Worker—Work—Structure Survey. It may also find that the objective needs clarification, more evidence is required, authority rests elsewhere, an assumption must first be tested, or the present business reflects choices you do not wish to change.

None of these findings is a judgment of you.

They identify the present condition so that your next decision can be made from reality.

Describe one recurring condition rather than a general goal.
Is this problem occurring in a business that is presently operating?
Describe a result that could be observed or measured.
Describe actual records, numbers, events, or observations. Perfect bookkeeping is not required.
Describe the correction you attempted and the result it produced.
Do you have the authority to change how this business operates?
If your objective requires a different business, are you willing to examine what must change?
Which changes are you willing to consider if the evidence supports them?
This is not a commitment to make every change. Select everything you are presently willing to examine.
